Three ways to celebrate the holidays with the TBSO!
We have three fantastic events this December that are sure to get you into the holiday spirit! Handel’s Messiah, Sweet Tidings at Goods & Co. and our Holiday Pops Concert “Home for the Holidays” at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium!
Handel’s Messiah | December 2 & 3, 7:30pm | St. Paul’s United Church
Join us for Handel’s Messiah, the iconic oratorio, featuring our very own Thunder Bay Symphony Chorus and RBC Featured Conductor Cosette Justo-Valdés! A fixture of the Holiday season, Messiah is a tradition we are thrilled to bring back this season. Though Handel wrote this piece over 250 years ago, it still inspires awe in audiences young and old. This epic choral masterpiece is not to be missed.
Soloists:
Gillian Sadler, soprano
Maria Lynn Tassone, mezzo soprano
Justin Stolz, tenor
Clarence Frazer, baritone
Sweet Tidings | December 14, 7:00pm | Goods & Co.
The TBSO Brass Quartet, Brass Northwest, will be performing at a special event, “Sweet Tidings” at Goods & Co. Market. Get ready for an evening of dessert tastings by Uncommon Baked Goods, cocktails, (and maybe some wine if you’re interested) and fun holiday tunes – baroque and renaissance classics – featuring TBSO musicians Damian Rivers-Moore, Daniel Lehmann, Erik Hongisto, and Matheus Moraes!
Home for the Holidays | December 17, 7:00pm | Thunder Bay Community Auditorium
RBC Principal Pops Conductor, Jeff Christmas, and our very special Guest Artist Robert Perrier, bring together numerous community groups, including our very own Thunder Bay Symphony Chorus, to perform alongside our TBSO! We are thrilled to feature classic holiday music, popular seasonal favourites, and everything you need to get you in the spirit of the season.
