Link Up
Program Details
The Carnegie Hall Weill Institute of Music’s “Link Up” program is an internationally acclaimed education program that allows students to connect through music and perform with a symphony orchestra. This is the tenth consecutive year that the TBSO has participated in “Link Up.”
For 2023-2024, Thunder Bay’s Grades 4-6 students have the opportunity to participate in “The Orchestra Sings” program. Melody is one of the universal elements of music and defines the music we know and love. A great melody can express ideas and emotions, help tell a story, and bring people together through song. Composers create melodies through a combination of rhythmic patterns, sweeping contours, and expressive qualities. Through the Link Up repertoire, hands-on activities, and a culminating interactive performance with a professional orchestra, we will explore what makes a melody great. Teachers can access and download the Teacher Guide for “The Orchestra Rocks” from the Link Up website: https://www.carnegiehall.org/Education/Programs/Link-Up/National-Program/The-Orchestra-Sings
