Program Details
Music from our Masterworks series features the new and old standards of classical music, works by Canadian composers, and features an exciting lineup of Canadian soloists and conductors.
In a dress rehearsal, a professional orchestra is basically performance ready. In a working dress rehearsal, sometimes conductors will go back and rehearse certain sections of the music for different reasons. Students will have the unique opportunity to see and hear how the orchestra works, and the interesting dynamic between the conductor and the orchestra musicians.
Students will learn the background and historical context to the music they will hear in a talk given by the TBSO’s RBC Resident Conductor as well as ask questions about the music and soloists. This program is for students in High School or Senior Elementary (grade 7 & 8).
