Jacob Two Two Education Concert

Once, there was a boy, named Jacob Two Two. He was two plus two plus two years old!

Jacob is certain no one ever listens to him. His two older brothers, two older sisters, and two distracted parents don’t hear him unless he says everyone twice. A habit that gets him into trouble and lands him in the fantastical children’s court of Mr. Justice Rough. Sentenced to spend two years, two days, two hours, and two minutes on foggy, snake-infested Slimer’s Island, Jacob falls under the menacing eye of dreaded warden The Hooded Fang. What will become of our hero? Will he get home? Can he help the other children locked up on Slimer’s Island? Just when all seems lost, Jacob plots his escape with the help of a heroic squad of older children known as Child Power!

The TBSO is thrilled to present this exciting collaboration between composer, Dean Burry, and writer, Jacob Richler (the Jacob Two Two himself). Narrated by RBC Resident Conductor, Maria Fuller, and filmed at The Courthouse Hotel in Thunder Bay right in the historic courtroom that was used by the Superior Court of Justice for Port Arthur (now part of Thunder Bay) from 1924-2014, this is an engaging and entertaining rendition of a much-loved classic. This charming story has been read by generations of school children and we are proud to bring it to classrooms in a new and interesting format! Through the generosity of the Ontario Arts Council, we are able to offer this concert at no cost to schools. To register please visit: https://tbso.ca/tbso-education-2021/
