The selections from Ethel Smyth’s operatic masterwork The Boatswain’s Mate shines a light on a rollicking and rebellious slice of opera, filled with lively characters and rich vocal textures, celebrating the spirit of those who live outside the rules. Finally, Carl Orff’s iconic Carmina Burana is presented here with an intimate yet powerful arrangement that brings the beloved piece’s pulsating rhythms and dramatic intensity to life.
