Our season concludes with masterstrokes of passion, power and profound beauty. Ichmouratov’s Concerto Grosso is a bright, driving tour de force for clarinet, piano and strings. The playful and inventive Variations on a Theme by Haydn is one of Brahms’ most popular works, and his own personal favorite. Finally Brahms’ monumental piano concerto features young Canadian virtuoso Serhiy Salov, an engaging musician known for his sparkling technique and superb musicality.
